Janneke van der Velden (1980, The Netherlands) joined Powerhouse Company as project architect in 2018. She is a graduate of TU Delft, where she completed her master’s degree in architecture in 2005. As part of her studies Janneke undertook a traineeship in Saõ Paulo, Brazil. She found the experience instrumental in developing her sense of architecture, particularly her fascination for the curved line and for design that unites brutal presence with modest elegance.
Prior to joining Powerhouse Company, Janneke worked at Group A in Rotterdam where she handled a wide range of projects, including various high-end offices for international brands, national monuments transformations, station area regenerations, and small projects such as a public pavilion and a private loft. While at Group A, she also led several prize-winning national and international competitions. Recently, Janneke was part of the project management team leading the renovation and extension of Paleis Het Loo in Apeldoorn.
