Joppe Kusters (1993, The Netherlands) joined Powerhouse Company in 2015 as an intern and has been working as a junior architect since the summer of 2016. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture & Construction Engineering from the HAN University of Applied Sciences (2017). As part of his bachelor, Joppe studied for six months at the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture.
Joppe’s work has a strong focus on materials, tactility and space. He is driven by beauty and loves nature. During his studies at the HAN University of Applied Sciences, he developed strong engineering and detailing skills, as well as a hands-on approach. He plans to start a Master in Architecture soon, in order to develop his design skills and shape his identity and philosophy as an architect. Ultimately, he hopes that he will find means to bring his different fascinations together into one.
