Water Tower Refurbishment
If a water tower is reconverted into housing, it means that the existing structure is adapted: a costly process of making windows in the facades and adapting the inner structure. In this case we proposed to keep the structure in fully tact: its interior was filled with a massive concrete structure designed to lift the huge water basin. Instead of removing it, we proposed to let it serve as a giant foundation for a very light tower that looks out over the city. This is not only cheaper, the houses can be much lighter and airier.
